By artistic definition, mosaic is a pictorial representation made of small chunks of stone, ceramic, glass, and other materials. Its origins date back to 3500 B.C. In Mesopotamia and later in Greece, the first mosaic artists dabbled in the craft. But more complex and inspired works were developed in Spain. Andalusian patios and especially the work of Spanish master craftsman Gaudí find themselves among many of the many marvelous manifestations of marble design. At Casa Valencia we do honor to the Greek etymology of the word mosaic, which means “muse.” We give life and inspiration to all spaces with original pieces in murals, framed work, and coverings.
